Where does natural stone originate?
Marble is found all over the globe. Much of what we use is quarried in India, Italy, Germany, Canada, Spain, and right here in the United States. The majority of granite used around the world comes from quarries in India, and Brazil. As an engineered stone product, quartz is produced both in Canada and abroad.
How big are full slabs of marble, granite, and quartz?
Every slab is different, but the average size is 9'x5'.
How much do marble, granite, and quartz weigh?
On average, these materials weigh about 18 pounds per square foot.
How thick are natural stone products?
The average thickness for countertops is 3/4" (2cm nominal) or 1-1/4" (3cm nominal).
Will you provide customer service after my project is completed?
Certainly. Because we're so meticulous in our original measurements, precision cutting, finish craftsmanship, and installation, it's highly unlikely that you'll ever experience any problems. But if you have concerns, we'll be there for you. We're not satisfied with our work unless you are.
Is natural stone easy to maintain?
Absolutely. However, as strong and durable as it is, natural stone does require a little TLC and some preventive measures. For instance, some natural stone requires the application of a sealant to help protect it.
In general, however, warm water, mild dishwashing liquid, and a soft, clean cloth are all that's required to maintain most natural stone surfaces. If a stain should occur, it can usually be removed using a compound available from Classic Marble & Stone.
