Our skilled craftsmen use specialized equipment such as this gantry saw to reduce slabs of stone to specifications for kitchen countertops and bathrooms.

Since 1961, builders and remodelers have come to Hoagland, Indiana for beautiful and durable stone products.

Leon Shelburne opened the doors at Shelburne Marble & Stone in that year, expecting to sell stone and brick to contractors. But his business soon headed in another direction -- into marble. By the late 1970s, much of his work was in making and installing marble windowsills and fireplace hearths and facings in new homes, and doing custom work for antique dealers.

The classic tradition of craftsmanship continues today at Classic Marble and Stone. Since 1985, owner Mike Sorg and his skilled team continue to refurbish old pieces of marble and granite, but the majority of their work is for granite countertops and fireplace surrounds.

The craftsmen at Classic Marble & Stone approach their work with 21st Century tools, including computer controlled machines to cut and mill slabs of granite and marble into beautiful additions to your home or office.

The automated machinery allows us to service the market in a timely fashion. Although much of our work is still handcrafted, our turnaround time depends tremendously on the machinery and expertise of our craftsmen who run the machinery. We have put together a package of machinery and people in order to service our customer with quality by doing the best job we can in the shortest time possible.
